Most anybody involved in MOK Leisure Unlimited knows the mighty Bob Wu. And if you know Bob, you know that when Bob takes on anything, he takes it on in a BIG way. Well Bob has taken on fundraising for Aids related charities, and as expected, he's going big by participating in the Northeast AIDSride, a 350 mile bike ride. Ouch.

This year, I'm fulfilling my dream of making a
difference and do something extraordinary. I'm
participating in Tanqueray's Northeast AIDSride. In
July 2001 I'll be bicycling 350 miles from New York to
Boston in an effort to raise money for AIDS related
charities and to bring awareness that AIDS is still a
deadly disease.
Friends have shared with me their lives and I have
become very aware of just what AIDS is all about:
- imagine waking up one morning and realizing that
every home on your block has been sold; imagine every
one of your neighbors gone.
- imagine a world where every one of your closest
friends has died.
- imagine being too sick to work and too poor to pay
for medication.
- imagine infants, born with this disease, wasting
away.
I'm committed to help by raising over $3,000 and I
need your help. Will you please make a pledge (on the
attached pledge form) and help me meet my goal, or
join me in doing the Ride?
Not everyone can participate by riding, but you can
participate by making a donation and sharing the
message that AIDS kills. In return, I pledge to share
my AIDSride experiences with all of my sponsors so you
have a sense of what it is like to do the Ride.
If you can't ride, how about pledging the price of a
weekly beer, lunch, dinner or movie? Every time that
you make that small sacrifice, you'll be reminded of
the stand that you have taken to help people with
AIDS.
Over 36,600,000 people are currently infected with
HIV, over 5 million new infections this year, and
there is still no cure. Medications only slow the
disease. With your support, I hope to avert any more
deaths caused by this epidemic and to help those who
are ill and in desperate need.
